I am a Super Special Guest Blogger on Crazy Sexy Life!!!!!!!!!!!
Great box, Deb! :)
I have to say massaged kale salad is my fav! Olive oil, sea salt, a little fresh lemon juice and massage away. AND you have to be in a loving good mood as your massaging so the love pours out into the kale. FOR REAL!!! Then you can add some hemp seeds, chia seeds or whatever you fancy!!!!
DID I WIN???
Just kidding!!
LOVE YOU GIRLIE HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!
Ferment: kohlrabi, celery, garlic, ginger, and a green apple. So freakin' good!
Don't know how to make your own cultured veggies? Easy peasy. Check this out: How To Make Raw Cultured Vegetables. Sam can get in on the action too!
Shred a bunch of carrots, shred a couple beets, toss with some olive oil and your choice of vinegar or lemon juice. Let sit, then add chopped Italian parsley, and a sprinkle of sea salt and pepper. Serve on a bed of greens (oh...try the romaine - that makes it 3 of your box items!) and top with chopped avocado and a sprinkle of seeds (hemp, sunflower, etc)
DELISH!!!!!
Love you Deb and this blog ROCKS!
XOXOXO
Becky
Will you ask the chia people what the nutritional difference is between white chia seed and black chia seed? I can't seem to find an answer. I'd love to know. Great source. Thank you so much!!
Here are some recipes for Kohlabri. http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/kohlrabi/
I bet they'd be great fermented and pickled. Maybe there's a korean way to do it? Some type of coconut probiotic starter?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

You scored some great stuff! I wrote a post on my blog about kohlrabi once... a disaster of a recipe - EEK! YUCK! I suspect in small quantities it tastes better - LOL.
Hugs,
Kristen
I <3 You 3rd mom!!
juice carrots and use pulp for bread. you need a few cups. cut up the onion into small pieces. they you need some flax (a few cups ground up) and about a teaspoon salt. mix all together, spread onto dehydrator sheet and dehydrate all day or overnight until desired dryness. (you could add the beet pulp too if you are being really adventurous.)
The kohlrabi is delicious just sliced, salted, and eaten. That's the way we've always eaten them, even before we were raw foodies. ;-) You can use a mandoline, slice it thin, and top with a dollop of some seed cheese, too!
Malcolm is so adorable!!
Lots of love to you,
Wendi
XOXOXO
Im a fellow CSL-er too!
I am so in awe of these chia seeds.
I havent seen them in Tokyo, where I live.
The chia choco seed crackers seem absolutely lovely.
Love your blog
Have a great day!

When it comes to recipes, I love all sorts of greens, especially kale and swiss chards. I finely chop the kale/chard, add EVOO, lemon juice, & sea salt. I massage the kale/chard and leave it for 15-20 minutes. I then add any fresh vegetables I have in my fridge; my must haves in the salad are avocado and sunflower seeds. The results? A very delicious satisfying meal!
Thanks for having this giveaway.
One of my favourite vegetables is in there too -- Kohlrabi!
My all-time favourite way to it is to put the leaves in a salad and then chop the rest into slices (I like thick slices but try thick and thin, I also don't peel it but most people do) and just eat plain or with a little raw hummous or really any kind of spread/sauce you like!
It's got this lovely sweet crunch to it, similar to broccoli stems. Yummm!
I would love to try those chia seeds, I never have before! This is not exactly a recipe, but you weren't sure what to do with the kohlrabi - just eat it raw! They're great sliced up on salads or just by themselves with dip.
Heaping handful of spinach
A cup of strawberries
A cup of mangoes
Enough water to blend it all together...
Make it as thin or as thick as u like it!
